What's New in Podium: New and improved AI lead follow-up

Our lead follow-up feature is exactly what it sounds like — when a lead comes in that’s being handled by your AI Employee, if the lead stops responding, you can configure a series of follow-up messages to attempt to re-engage with the lead. It’s a critical part of our customer’s strategy to keep leads warm and convert them at a higher rate.

We launched a version of AI lead follow-up last year and have made a ton of improvements based on customer feedback. Here are some key ones:

  • Maximum of 2 total follow-ups → unlimited followups
  • Fixed follow-up schedule → fully customizable schedule
  • Single template follow-up message → AI-generated messages
  • Limited control to cancel follow-ups → robust control
  • Single follow-up cadence for all inquiries → multiple cadences

Our new lead follow-up feature is built into Podium’s powerful automations platform, which gives us access to a number of useful features like the ability to filter follow-up messages based on CRM status.

You can set up our new and improved Lead Follow-up automation yourself in the Podium platform. Log into Podium, click Settings, then click AI Employee. You’ll see a new Settings section for Lead Follow-up. If you already used our previous version of Lead Followup, you will be able to see the Automation and make any changes you want, such as adding additional follow-up attempts, or changing the follow-ups from template messages to AI-generated messages. If you haven’t used our previous version, you’ll see a flow walking you through the process of setting up your Automation, along with the ability to customize things like cadence and filtering.
